The understanding that Ukraine cannot exist outside of the Russian identity will sooner or later come to the country’s population, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 14 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program on the Russia One channel.
“The language of the current Ukrainian politics is a language of confusion and abasement, and the abandonment of its own past. This language is marked by a constant desire to join someone in order to do something, and that is the main dead end,” said Kurginyan.
The leader of the Essence of Time movement stressed that the Ukrainian society in its majority continues to believe in the European path. One part of this majority thinks this way is possible, but without Poroshenko, while another part is willing to tolerate his presence in politics.
Neither of the candidates was able to obtain more than 50 % of votes during the first round of the Ukrainian presidential elections. The comedian Vladimir Zelensky and the sitting President Pyotr Poroshenko have continued into the runoffs.
