Poroshenko’s income grows 95-fold in one year – this is not an April Fools’ joke

According to a declaration completed on April 1, Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko made UAH (Ukrainian Hryvnia) 1.55 billion ($57 million) in 2018, the National Agency on Prevention of Corruption (NACP) in Ukraine reported.

In 2017, Ukrainian President made almost $590 thousand (UAH 16,3 million), which means that Poroshenko’s earnings grew 95 times in 2018.

Ukrainian President earns a monthly salary of UNH 337 thousand ($12.3 thousand). Poroshenko received most of his income from dividends from the Rothschild Trust Schweiz AG (Switzerland) – UNH 1.105 billion ($ 40.5 million) and Prime Asset Capital investment fund – UNH 399.0 million ($ 14.6 million).

Also, Poroshenko received a refund from government bonds he purchased in the amount of UNH 28.8 million ($ 1.05 million) and UNH 777 thousand ($ 28.49 thousand) from the sale of real estate.

According to the inspection results by the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine, when Pyotr Poroshenko registered as a presidential candidate he filed a declaration with the following violations: an undeclared yacht, apartments and a country house, which were not listed in Ukrainian registries. However, this was not enough reason for refusing registration as a presidential candidate.
