Kurginyan: Neither of the three candidates is capable of helping Ukraine

30.03.2019, Moscow.

The desire to sell Ukraine at a higher price brings the country’s strategic policy to a stalemate, political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on March 29 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program at the Russia One channel.

Neither of the leading Ukrainian presidential candidates: Pyotr Poroshenko, Yulia Tymoshenko, nor Vladimir Zelensky, is capable of raising the country to the level of France or Germany, Sergey Kurginyan believes. The trio of the major candidates to the Ukrainian presidency is leading Ukraine into a dead end.

Yulia Tymoshenko’s political gamesmanship separates her from the people, and it makes her unable to speak with them about “the most painful issues”. Yulia Tymoshenko enjoys the struggle for power, but she fights for power “just to have it”, and then she becomes lost. In this case, “a certain type of gang seizes the real power, and it starts plundering the country.”

“Poroshenko is stronger than them [meaning Yulia Tymoshenko and Vladimir ZelenskyRossa Primavera News Agency], because he is a wolf,” believes the leader of the Essence of Time movement.

“He lives and breathes war; he lives and breathes blood; he wants to shed it. Every time he speaks about something, he says “I’ve made the army, I’ve shed blood, I’ve killed Moscals [derogatory term for Russians – translator’s note]. He has no other merits,” stressed the political scientist.

Political debates between the leading candidates were supposed to take place on March 29, 2019. However, Pyotr Poroshenko and Vladimir Zelensky did not attend them.

The Ukrainian presidential elections will take place on March 31, 2019.
