Russia will only be able to effectively resolve international problems, including Venezuelan ones, if it fulfils three important conditions, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on March 28 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov TV program at the Russia One channel.
In the studio, a discussion took place regarding what role Russia might play in resolving the political crisis in Venezuela. Kurginyan stressed that, in order to be efficient on the global stage, Russia has to abandon the idea of “becoming part of the global civilization” in the first place, despite the fact that for many years the country has been undergoing a transformation aimed at “getting in there.”
Rejecting someone else’s path for the sake of our own has to be based on strategic reasons, “There is the nation, the state, its sovereignty, and its supreme meaning, and we are moving this path.”
The second condition, according to Kurginyan, is dramatic changes inside the elite. No positives changes can happen “until our liberal elite divides into a statist part and a clearly anti-state part.” After that, the part of the elite that is hostile towards the state has to be “displaced from politics by the people ― not by the bureaucracy, but by the people,” Kurginyan believes.
In summary, the expert stressed that Russian officials should look at how the US elite can work with civil society, and they should learn this skill.
“Our bureaucracy is dramatically inefficient in working with civil society. This is why Ukraine, Armenia, etc. were lost. If we do not learn this in twenty years, no technologies will help.”
Sergey Kurginyan has repeatedly said that, in order to withstand the tremendous pressure from the West today, Russia has to change its attitude towards the West, which has been rapidly mutating since the collapse of the Soviet Union. The political scientist believes that Russia must rapidly organize its own isolation and independence from the West before the adversary does it on its own terms.
