The Russian military technical specialists will work in Venezuela as long as the legitimate government finds it necessary, the Spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on March 28.
Answering a question regarding the duration of the military technical specialists’ presence in Venezuela, Zakharova said, “As long as the Venezuelan government needs them.”
The specialists’ mission is based on bilateral agreements, and it does not violate international law, she noted.
According to the Spokeswoman, the specialists are putting agreements on military technical cooperation into action.
US President Donald Trump demanded that Russia and the Russian military leave Venezuela.
Previously, a Russian Foreign Ministry official already answered accusations of violating Venezuelan sovereignty expressed by the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States.
