North Korea announces its likely withdrawal from denuclearization talks

16.03.2019, Pyongyang.

North Korea is considering suspending denuclearization talks with the US, said North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui at a press conference on March 15.

North Korea will not make concessions, nor will it accept the US demands, stressed Choe Son Hui.

The Korean side offered realistic proposals to help advance the denuclearization talks, but the US was not ready for debate and pressed its demands, noted the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman. This led to the effective failure of the negotiations and the lack of any meaningful result at the summit.

The summit between US and North Korean leaders took place at the end of February. The negotiations were terminated prematurely without reaching an agreement.
