US pushes the world to a pre-emptive nuclear strike doctrine – Kurginyan

02.02.2019, Moscow.

US is dragging the world towards using a pre-emptive nuclear strike doctrine, the leader of the Essence of Time social political movement Sergey Kurginyan said on February 1 on the air of the Time will Show TV program on Channel One.

US officials are lying about Russia’s violation of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF Treaty), noted Kurginyan. “Therefore, we are moving into the world with nuclear weapons where both sides will use a pre-emptive strike instead of a launch on warning deterrence doctrine,” said the political scientist, explaining the implications of the US withdrawal from the INF Treaty.

US President Ronald Reagan and General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev signed the INF Treaty on December 8, 1987. Meanwhile, the US Government has repeatedly declared that Russia is not fulfilling the treaty.

In the fall of 2018, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States would withdraw from the treaty. The Americans made their last statement on the INF Treaty on February 1 stating that starting February 2, US will no longer fulfill its treaty obligations.
