22.11.2018, Donetsk.

The Ministry of State Security of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) prevented a subversive attack by the Ukrainian Security Service (Ukrainian: SBU) aimed at undermining the DPR elections, the Press Officer of the Ministry Mikhail Popov said on November 21, the Donetsk News Agency reports.

The DPR Ministry of State Securitys counterintelligence measures prevented a subversive attack by the SBU, which aimed at undermining the elections of the head of state and members of the Peoples Council,” Popov said.

He added that a Ukrainian agent was detained on election day, who had given a flame liquid device to a member of an election precinct committee. The alleged plan was to place it in the ballot container and set off the device after the container wasm transported to the Central Electoral Commission.

On November 11, the elections of the LPR and DPR leaders as well as members of their People’s Councils took place in Donbass.
