Syria: Islamists massacre Kurds and occupy their territory

28.10.2018, Deir Ez-Zor.

Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have suffered serious casualties after the Islamists attacked SDF servicemen several times, and took control over part of the Kurdish territory, a Rossa Primavera News Agency source in Syria reports on October 28.

It is reported that as a result of Islamic State (an organization banned in Russia) militants’ counterattacks, the Kurds lost 60 people, including an official. The Islamists attacked the villages and settlements of al-Susah, al-Baghuz and Hadjin located near territory controlled by the ISIL (an organization banned in Russia) in the Deir Ez-Zor province.

In addition, the SDF convoy was attacked by a car bomb near the al-Omar oil field in the Deir Ez-Zor province.

Finally, once Kurdish fighters left al-Baghuz in eastern Deir Ez-Zor the IS (an organization banned in Russia) militants captured most of the town’s districts.

On October 22 the SDF unexpectedly announced that they are ceasing to fight for the areas under Islamist control. It was reported that the Kurds could have reached such a decision as a result of an agreement between them and the IS (an organization banned in Russia).
