Cleric of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Kiev Patriarchate posts Hitler’s speeches in Facebook

28.10.2018, Kiev.

A priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Kiev Patriarchate, Bogdan Kostuk, posted Hitler’s speeches on his Facebook page, the web-portal Vesti Ukraina reports on October 27.

This cleric serves with the Ukrainian Armed Forces unit, and according to some reports, along with his religious service, he deals with “the patriotic education of youth”. On Kostuk’s  Facebook page, one may also find posts about the activities of the Right Sector
(a Ukrainian nationalist organisation, which is banned in Russia).

Following the media reports on cleric’s interests, the posts containing Hitler’s speeches were deleted. However, the web-portal presents screenshots of the scandalous publications.

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Kiev Patriarchate, which has consistently been supporting nationalists in Ukraine, recently obtained the autocephaly from the Constantinople Patriarchate. In other words, it means an effective schism in the Orthodox Church that can be compared to what happened in 1054, when the Christian Church was divided into Roman Catholic and Orthodox.
