United States National Security Advisor John Bolton, answering a question by an Interfax journalist on October 24, said that the USA had made its decision to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.
According to Bolton, this president’s decision is clear and unambiguous, and the USA is informing its allies about it. This is also the goal of his visit to Moscow, Bolton added; it is to inform “Russian colleagues” about the USA’s decision to withdraw from the INF Treaty.
On October 20 Donald Trump made a statement about the USA’s intention to withdraw from the INF Treaty unilaterally.
According to the Russian Senator Aleksey Pushkov, this decision is the USA’s second attack on global stability; the first one was made in 2001 when the US withdrew from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty.
