21.06.2018, Kiev.

The Ukrainian army again launched an offensive in Donbass, advancing by two kilometers near the village of Zhelobok, TASS reported on June 20 citing the Staff of the “Joint Forces Operation.”

According to the provided information, “a logistics belt up to two kilometers deep has been created along the defense sector of a first-echelon brigade.” It is also noted that this operation to occupy the territory was performed “for about two weeks under absolute secrecy.”

The Ukrainian army has repeatedly violated the ceasefire regime, making attempts of reconnaissance-in-force. Media discussed an attack against the Donbass forces.

On June 7, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, answering a question on the likelihood of Ukraine starting hostilities in Donbass during the World Cup, expressed hope that there would be no provocations because they would have consequences for Ukrainian statehood.
