MSU Professor: Disintegration of Ukraine is Ukrainian authorities' fault

10.06.2018, Moscow.

The Ukrainian authorities do not want to recognize the existence of other nationalities in the country, professor Vitaly Tretyakov, the dean of the Higher School of Television of Moscow State University, said on June 10 in Sunday Evening with Vladimir Soloviev program on Russia-1 TV channel.

Tretyakov said that “all efforts to ensure that the disintegration process of Ukraine goes on, the Ukrainian authorities make themselves.” According to the professor, Ukraie as a state had not ever existed in the current borders. He also noted that people of different nationalities live on the territory of Ukraine: “You keep saying, this is evident for the Russian ear, Ukrainians, Ukrainians, Ukrainians, meaning all the inhabitants of Ukraine. And you do not know that not only Ukrainians live there, but also Russians. You do not want to recognize a real civilizational, historical, culturological, political fact.”

Tretyakov gave a piece of advice to the Ukrainian authorities, “As soon as possible, take the western part of modern Ukraine, isolate yourself there, and build your nationalist State.”

According to the research of the Razumkov Center, about 27% of the Ukrainians surveyed in 2016 named Russian as their native language.
