Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have opened fire upon Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) territory on April 7, Interfax informs.

Weaponry banned by the Minsk Agreements had been fired on positions of LPR People’s Militia in Veselogorlvka and Kalinovo districts.

He also appealed to Ukrainian military, urging them to “not carry out criminal orders of their Command” and give Orthodox people a chance to celebrate Easter”.

“I would like you to remember that you have Slavic roots and we are one people, against whom our centuries-old enemies started this spiteful war, pitting us against each other,” – he added.

Participants of the trilateral contact group for peaceful resolution of the Donbass conflict came to an agreement on the start of a so called Easter truce, starting from 00:00 on March 30, 2018. According to the agreement, the opposing sides took it upon themselves to not open fire from by weaponry on settlements, as well as to not execute recon and assault operations.
