07.02.2018, Donetsk.

During the past 24 hours Ukrainian army had violated the ceasefire ten times, the Donetsk news agency reports on February 7.

On February 7, the Operational Command of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) stated that over the past day the Ukrainian armed forces violated the ceasefire 10 times. “82 and 120 mm mortars, various types of grenade launchers and small arms were used,” the statement said.

Eight frontline localities of the Republic were shelled. No damages or casualties have been reported yet.

The latest ceasefire in Donbass came into effect on the night of 23 to 24 December 2017. Since the beginning of 2017, this was the sixth attempt of the conflicting parties to cease shelling. The civil war in Ukraine began in April 2014, when nationalist political forces came to power as a result of the coup d’etat. In response to peaceful actions of civil resistance in the cities of Kharkov and Donetsk, and in various towns and villages of Donbass, these forces announced the so-called “Anti-terrorist operation” with involvement of the Ukrainian army and armed nationalist units.
