Russian military delivers humanitarian aid to Syria's Deraa province

On January 29, Russian military from the Center for the Reconciliation of Opposing Sides (CROS) in Syria delivered a humanitarian cargo to the province of Deraa, Interfax news agency reports.

Humanitarian aid was delivered to the villages of Bijin and Mazra’a Bijin. An agreement on ceasefire on this territory was reached recently. According to Leonid Sharshukov, the representative of CROS, at present refugees are returning there actively.

Russian military regularly provides humanitarian assistance to the affected areas of Syria. Aid has been already delivered several times this year. For example, on January 26, several tons of cargo arrived at the village of Tarin in the province of Homs. Earlier, on January 11, Russian military delivered a humanitarian cargo to the city of Al-Zabadani in the Rif Dimashq Governorate.CROS is carrying out tasks on planning and providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Syria, coordinating the restoration of infrastructure, facilitating a safe return of refugees, and monitoring ceasefire agreements.
