Mass graves of Syrian soldiers were found near the Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase in Syria, the news website Lenta.Ru reports, citing Al-Masdar News on January 29.
According to the Syrian media, three mass graves containing 45 bodies of soldiers have been found and exhumed. It is reported that the total number of victims of Islamists totals 71. To this moment, no other bodies have yet been found. Video depicting exhumation of the bodies was aired on local TV. It is also reported that the remains were sent to the hospital of Hama, where the identification procedure will take place.
The Abu Duhur Air Base located in the south-east of Idlib Province was under the control of militants since 2015, and it was recaptured by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) on January 20, 2018.
