On January 2, the Ukrainian military shelled three towns and villages of the Republic, the Operations Commanders of Donetsk People’s Republic said on January 3, Donetsk News Agency reports.
“In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian army shelled the areas of the Trudovskie township at the west of Donetsk and Zaytsevo to the north of Gorlovka, as well as the village of Spartak to the north of the capital,” the Republic’s Defense Ministry reported.
From December 23, a ceasefire regime along the contact line in Donbass is in force for the period of the New Year holidays. However, the Ukrainian military has repeatedly violated these agreements, shelling the territory of the Lugansk and Donetsk Republics.
