24.12.2017, DPR.

A campaign in support of children in Donbass was launched in the European Union’s countries on December 24, Donetsk News Agency informs citing the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Donetsk People’s Republic (the DPR).

“‘Exchanging of New Year and Christmas greetings between the children of Donbass and Europe’ event was held in one of the schools in Moriondo Torinese, Italy. The action was organized in cooperation with the city mayor Giuseppe Grande and the members of the DPR Representative Office in Italy, Mauricio Marrone and Tiziani Franca. The Italian schoolchildren were very happy to receive such colourful and sincere greetings from children of Donbass and, on the same day, prepared their greeting cards for their peers in the DPR. These cards will be delivered to Donetsk and other towns of the Republic very soon,” the press service stated.

A similar event was held in France. The schools of Aix-en-Provence and Charleville-Mézières took part in the event organized in cooperation with the Head of the local DPR Representative Office Hubart Fayard.

The DPR Representative Offices were opened in Russia and a number of the EU countries: Greece, Italy, Czechia, France, and Finland. Despite the difficulties related to regular provocations in media and hiding the truth about the civil war in Ukraine, there can be found a number of politicians and artists among the Europeans who have visited Donbass, they are seeking to present the truthful information about the events in Donbass to the European citizens.

Editorial comment

The DPR press service stresses that the point of this action is to establish the ties between the young generations of the European countries and Donbass, and not only in sending gifts as such. This campaign helps peacemaking and countering the lies in the Western media far more efficiently than any statements made by teachers and politicians, no matter how convincing.
