Kurginyan: Putin is trying to find support in the people

16.12.2017, Russia.

Putin is trying to find support in the people, political scientist Sergey Kurginyan said on December 14 on Channel One on the Time will Show TV program, Rossa Primavera News Agency reports.

The Time will Show broadcast focused on the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent press-conference.
“I believe that now Putin is trying to find support directly in the masses. His agenda, his discussions, and all other things are an attempt to structure political system differently,” Sergey Kurginyan said.

Apart from inventions by political strategists, this approach contains within itself an attempt to find a way to transform the political system, the political scientist believes.

“On the one hand, of course, it something the political strategists have come up with. But on the other hand, we are approaching something the system cannot withstand. The system can work under moderate stress, but after the stress starts growing, and it’s not true that the Americans are not increasing the stress, we will have to do something with the system. And I believe Putin keeps his eye out for the possibility of doing so. This is purely my personal opinion,” Kurginyan added.

On December 14th, President Putin’s thirteenth press-conference took place. The event lasted for approximately four hours. The President answered over 60 questions.

During the press-conference, Vladimir Putin announced that he intends to run for President as a self-nominated candidate, and not as a party representative.
