Bulgarian journalist: "Russia didn't let terrorists into my country"

Russia destroyed terrorists in their lair and did not allow them reach Europe, said Asya Ivanova, a journalist of the Bulgarian information agency News Front in her interview to Rossa Primavera News Agency on December 14.

Russia did not let terrorists into my country,” Ivanova commented on a statement on the completion of Russia’s military operation in Syria made by  Russian President Vladimir Putin during his annual press conference on December 14.

Ivanova talked about the situation with refugees who came from the Middle East to Bulgaria. In her opinion, if Russia did not stop terrorists in Syria, the issue of migrants could have escalated. “We are located between East and West, so all these trends are extremely important for us,” she concluded.

The journalist noted the strong historical bonds between Russia and Bulgaria, and stated that owing to these ties both countries have now managed to normalize their relations.

On December 14, the annual press conference of Russian President Vladimir Putin took place in Moscow. Dozens of foreign correspondents from Europe, Asia, North America attended the event.
