Karelia sends New Year presents to children of Donbass

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Republic of Karelia and charitable sponsors dispatched humanitarian aid to children of Donetsk and Lugansk on December 1, Respublika, a Karelian web portal, informs.

On the first day of winter, a truck full of gifts and Christmas trees set off to children of Donbass. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Karelia and its subordinate bodies procured 185 fir trees; and employees of state organizations together with local businessmen donated more than 550 New Year’s gifts with confectionery.

This is the third time when such an action has been organized in Karelia. Earlier, the Karelian Republic sent Christmas trees to Simferopol, Sevastopol, and to children’s institutions in Donetsk.New Year gifts for children of Donbass, whose families still remain in the frontline areas, are being gathered throughout Russia.
