24.11.2017, Germany.

The Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug warned the parties to the conflict of a possible escalation of the armed conflict in Donbass, Deutsche Welle reported on November 24.

According to Alexander Hug, the escalation of the armed conflict is due to the cold weather that has come, because frozen ground unfortunately makes moving heavy weapons easier. He also lamented that in the recent weeks the ceasefire was violated increasingly often.

The situation in Donbass plunged into crisis in the past several days.

According to a number of media outlets, a conflict happened between the Leader of the Republic Igor Plotnitsky and the fired Minister of Internal Affairs of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) Igor Kornet. Reportedly, the building of the Prosecutor General’s Office was assaulted on November 22. The Ministry of State Security of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) reported a joint operation with the law enforcement officials of the LPR which neutralized a group of persons suspected of connections with Ukrainian intelligence. On November 23, some media reported that Igor Plotnitsky arrived to Moscow; however, this information has been neither confirmed nor denied officially.
