Lugansk Prosecutor General’s Office assaulted

22.11.2017, the DPR.

The building of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) was assaulted at 11:50 (local time), a source reported on November 22, Delovoy Portal DNR Live reports.

Reportedly, the building was assaulted by 200 people. As a result of the action, the Acting Prosecutor General of the Republic Vitaly Podobry and the Military Department Director Sergey Rakhno were escorted out of the building.

A conflict in the Lugansk People’s Republic began after the Republic’s Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Kornet was dismissed, and unidentified armed people encircled the center of Lugansk.

Editorial comment

The political crisis in the LPR plays in the Ukrainian junta’s favor. The conflict between Kornet and Plotnitsky can result in the dismissal of one of the signatories to the Minsk agreements from governing the Republic. This can become an excuse for the Ukrainian junta to question the Minsk agreements.

Intriguingly, the President of Russia said that he would not allow the Minsk agreements to be broken down, thus taking personal responsibility for the resolution thereunder.

An increased activity around this conflict on the part of oligarch Konstantin Malofeev, who bought the Ukraine’s national debt and who is thus interested that Ukraine can pay it, suggests that another attempt to give up Donbass and carry out a coup d’etat in Russia may be prepared.
