Russian Aerospace Forces kill terrorist leader in Syria

08.09.2017, Syria.

The so-called “minister of war” of ISIL (organization banned in Russia) Gulmurod Khalimov was present in the command center destroyed by the Russian Aerospace Forces, RIA Novosti reports on September 8.

Together with Khalimov, the targeted airstrike killed the “emir of Deir ez-Zor” Abu-Muhammad al-Shimali, who was responsible for the terrorists’ treasury. A number of European security services claimed al-Shimali responsible for the terrorist attacks in Paris in November 2015.

Khalimov was a former Tajik riot police commander who voluntarily joined ISIL (organization banned in Russia ― Rossa Primavera Information Agency) in 2015. In 2003–2008 he was trained several times at US military bases together with mercenaries of the Blackwater private military company (PMC) today known as Academi.

In the recent years, thousands of people from the post-Soviet Central Asian republics have joined terrorists fighting in Syria. This year, a number of emigrants from Central Asia were detained on suspicion of involvement in the preparation of terrorist attacks in St. Petersburg and Stockholm.
