First shipment of humanitarian aid delivered to the town of Deir Ez-Zor

The first shipment of humanitarian aid was delivered to the town of Deir Ez-zor by a convoy of 40 trucks, RIA Novosti reports on the 7th of September.

The convoy’s passage became possible after breaking through terrorists’ positions in the western part of the town. The delivered humanitarian aid includes food, fuel and lubricants, medicine.

Syrian Army broke a siege circle around the town of Deir Ez-zor on the day of September 5th and met town militiamen on the south-western direction. The town of Deir Ez-zor and a nearby military airfield have been fully surrounded by militants for more than 3 years. Syrian military broke the siege with a help from Russian aviation that carried out massive strikes upon terrorist forces’ gatherings.
