DPR: A chapel opened at the foot of Saur-Mogila memorial commemorating the fallen militiamen

A chapel at the foot of the tumulus commemorating the militiamen killed in the battles for Saur-Mogila, was opened and consecrated, Donetsk News Agency informed on September 7.

The chapel opening ceremony was attended by acting Minister of Culture of the DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic) Mikhail Zheltiakov,  Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic Alexey Kostrubitsky, representatives of operational command and of other ministries and offices.

The first service took place in the Chapel, with the rite of consecration performed by the Bishop of Novoazovsk Varsonofy.

On September 7, on the eve of 74th anniversary of the liberation of Donbass several thousand people in the east of DPR gathered at the memorial complex Saur-Mogila damaged as a result of the Ukrainian army’s military aggression. To honor the memory of liberators the delegations of Russia and South Ossetia arrived as well. In particular, the employees of the museums of Moscow, Astrakhan, Surgut and Kursk took part in the celebration.
