The last night and morning in the DPR passed relatively quiet. Single mortar shots and the use of small arms were noted in the north- and south-western outskirts of Gorlovka.
As usual, the situation is restless near Donetsk airport. Mortars occasionally join the small arms’ shootout. Around 11 p.m., the Ukrainian side shelled the surrounding area of the pumping station that relates to the South Donbass water pipeline first uplifting. The station is located in the vicinity of Yasinovataya. For security reasons, the station personnel was evacuated to the bomb shelter. There were no casualties. A statement on Ukrainian volunteers made by Pyotr Nikitenko, the Major-General of the Ukrainian army, caused scandal outbreaks in the Ukrainian internet. Besides the unpleasant words about the glorious Kiev junta’s punitive operation warriors, Nikitenko (according to Ukrainian blogger Kirichenko, who was present at the general’s meeting with the staff) said that ‘Donbass’ battalion pillaged and fled from Ilovaysk. Ukrainian servicemen (or coward marauders, who knows) published an angry response to the commander. It looks like a new ‘Kremlin agent’ is going to be exposed soon.
Moreover, a sub-group on security started its work today in Minsk. It is planned to discuss the results of the ‘school truce’ in Donbass that started on August 25 at midnight. In spite of the significant shelling intensity reduction, a ceasefire has not yet been observed.
