Syrian media: Deir ez-Zor blockade lifted

On September 5, soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army finally broke the three year long siege of Deir ez-Zor, SANA informs.

Syrian governmental forces breached the defensive line of ISIL (organization banned in Russia) from the west and reached the base of the 137th brigade located in the city.

According to previous reports, cruise missiles launched by the Russian frigate Admiral Essen destroyed a terrorists’ headquarters in Deir ez-Zor.

Deir ez-Zor was besieged from September 2014. All that time the besieged city was mostly supplied by aircraft.
