The USA can provide military hardware worth $175 million to Ukraine, stated the United States Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis on August 24, TASS reports.
Mattis said that military cooperation between Washington and Kiev will increase, including through the approved delivery of military hardware and special equipment which must strengthen national defence capability of Ukraine.
Pentagon chief said that Department of Defense considers the question of providing lethal arms to Ukraine. On returning to the USA, Mattis promised to give a series of recommendation this question to the White House administration.
According to UN estimates, a minimum of 10 thousand people were killed as a result of the military campaign of Ukraine against Donetsk and Lugansk People`s Republics on the south-east country, after the coup and the unconstitutional seizure of power took place in Kiev in 2014.
