Fire of high intensity was observed on the Donetsk direction during the day. The Kuybyshevsky, Kirovsky, Kievsky, and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk came under the Ukrainian army’s fire. The Ukrainian military was using reconnaissance drones to adjust artillery fire. We are utilizing our anti-aircraft warfare to shoot down the enemy’s drones.
The enemy began the intensive shelling of Spartak with 120mm and 82mm mortars, automatic grenade launchers and infantry fighting vehicles at around 10 PM. Fire came from the positions of the 72nd Independent mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army. The enemy was firing trace and incendiary munitions causing fire outbreak in 9 houses on Chapaev street. The firefighter crews of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Ministry of Emergency Situation were fighting fire being under the constant shelling.
The situation is tense on other parts of the front. Combat was underway near Gorlovka and Dokuchaevsk, in the area of Skahanka and Kominternovo.
During the past day, August 20, the Ukrainian army violated the ceasefire 43 times. The enemy shelled 19 town and villages of the DPR.
