Despite the relative lull in fighting on the Gorlovka part of the front, the Ukrainian army is provoking escalation of the situation in the south of the Donetsk People’s Republic (the DPR), a source in the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on August 15.
On the Donetsk part of the front, the Ukrainian artillery shelled the villages of Spartak, Staromikhaylovka, and Trudovskiye. According to the local residents, active combat using the small arms was underway in the area of “Volvo-Center”.
The tensest situation is observed on the Mariupol direction. About 9 PM, the 59th Independent motorized infantry brigade of the Ukrainian army began the heavy shelling of Kominternovo, Leninskoye, Oktyabr, Zaichenko, and Sakhanka. 2 Ukrainian 10 men strong sabotage-reconnaissance groups, supported by artillery, attempted to seize the area in the “gray zone” near the village of Kominternovo. By coming upon the Ukrainian minefield, the Ukrainian military was uncovered and driven back by DPR PM servicemen’s fire. According to DPR PM Command, the Ukrainian army lost 6 soldiers.
Yesterday in the evening, one DPR peaceful resident, a 71-years old woman, received shrapnel wound of her limbs and head as a result of the Ukrainian military’s shelling of Sakhanka.
