Russian Defense Ministry: Russia conducted three humanitarian actions in Syria within one day

Within a single day, Russia conducted three humanitarian actions in Syria. These actions were organized within the framework of regular activities by the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of opposing sides in the Syrian Arab Republic, a bulletin of the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation informs on August 16.

“Within last 24 hours, the Russian Centre for reconciliation of opposing sides held 3 humanitarian actions: in the city of Hatyn in Aleppo province, where civilians received 1,9 tons of food; in the town of Deir Baalba in Homs province, where civilians received 2,7 tons of food; in the city of Muhayam al-Wafidin in Damascus province, where civilians received 2,3 tons of food. Total weight of humanitarian cargo – 6,9 tons. 1,150 people have received the humanitarian aid. The total number of the humanitarian actions – 1,583. The Russian military medics provided medical aid to 568 people,”  the bulletin of the Russian Defense Ministry reads.

The bulletin also notes that within 24 hours, 16 ceasefire agreements have been signed. The total number of localities that joined the reconciliation agreement has reached 2,184.

Since February 28 of this year, news bulletins are published daily on the website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. These bulletins provide general information on the progress of implementing the reconciliation agreement between the conflicting parties. Special attention is paid to the reports on violations of the cessation of the hostilities agreement. The bulletins also regularly inform audience about humanitarian aid and support provided to the people of Syria.
