Trench combat occasionally erupted on the Gorlovka segment of the contact line. The Ukrainian Military opened fire on the villages of Zhovanka and the Nikitovsky district of the city with grenade launchers and small arms.

During the night, the Ukrainian army was shelling the DPR PM positions near Yasinovatya using 120mm mortars. However, fire intensity decreased on this part of the front in the morning because of the Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug’s arrival for monitoring the situation in the areas of Krutaya Balka and the Donetsk water filtration plant.

On the Donetsk part of the front, the villages of Spartak, Trudovskiye, and Staromikhaylovka came under Ukrainian artillery fire. There is no information on the destructions or victims among the civilians population.

The Ukrainian army’s artillery shelled a number of the communities on the southern direction. Four houses on Akhmatova street in Kominternovo were damaged. One house on Shkolnaya street was damaged in the village of Dzerzhinskoye. Electric power was lost in the village of Leninskoye, Oktyabr, Kominternovo, Zaichenko, and Dzerzhinskoye as a result of the shelling.

Ukrainian Command continues to disregard the Minsk agreements by redeploying the heavy weaponry in the zone of conflict. DPR PM intelligence informs on the arrival of one Ukrainian army’s tank company in the area of Nikolaevka.

On August 8th, the Ukrainian army violated the ceasefire 48 times. 21 front-line towns and villages of the Republic came under Ukrainian military’s shelling. One DPR PM serviceman was killed and another one was injured by Ukrainian army’s fire.
