ISIL (organization banned in Russia) took responsibility for the act of terrorism which took place in the north of the Sinai Peninsula on August 9, Reuters reports on August 10.
The terrorists took responsibility for the armed attack on the police patrol that resulted in four policemen killed near the city of Arish.
The five policemen were killed and another six were injured by a car explosion as a result of a terrorist attack in the city of Arish on July 17. For over three years, Egypt has been undertaking a military operation against extremists active in hard-to-reach areas of the Sinai Peninsula.
Hundreds of policemen and servicemen became victims of terrorists in these past years.
