DPR: Right Sector arrives in Donbass for cleansing territories

03.07.2017, DPR.

Kiev sent more Security Service squads and additional units of nationalists to front-line areas in Donbass. This is undertaken for the cleansing of towns and villages occupied by the Ukrainian army from the residents, who side with the Donetsk People’s Republic, Eduard Basurin, the Deputy Commander of the  Donetsk People’s Republic PeoplesMilitia, claimed on July 2, Life reports.

According to the DPR Armed Forces, a Ukrainian Volunteer Corps unit, formed by the Right Sector (organization banned in  Russia), arrived in the Krasnogorovka area. However, according to Basurin, the cleansing of the territory had begun before the arrival of radicals. 40 people had disappeared in the course of three days. All of them are civilians who were living in the frontline areas controlled by the Ukrainian army. Among other reasons, these cleansing operations are carried out in order to prevent the leakage of information about the location and movement of the Ukrainian army over the territory of Donbass.

Since June 30, our intelligence recorded a number of facts of Ukrainian security forces arresting residents in the villages of Tonenkoye, Netailovo, Krasnogorovka, Peski. Local residents have reported the disappearance of more than 40 people in these villages over the past three days. This has to do with the attempt of Ukrainian security forces to cleanse these territories of unwanted residents, who have been collecting information on the building up of the Ukrainian army weaponry banned [by the Minsk Agreements – Editor] in this region”, said Basurin.

Presumably, the detection of civilians, who are loyal to the DPR, is conducted by interception of telephone conversations. In turn, the authorities of the DPR called for the population of the territories controlled by the Ukrainian army to minimize the use of public communication channels.

There are known cases when, in order to recruit servicemen of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Ukrainian security services torture their relatives remaining in the territory controlled by Ukraine.

The hostilities on the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics had begun in 2014. After the coup d’etat in Ukraine, the residents of the Donetsk and the Lugansk People’s Republics refused to recognize the new Kiev government, which came to power using violent unconstitutional means. At that time, in April 2014, Aleksandr Turchinov, the acting President of Ukraine, passed a decree, which launched the military operations against Donbass citizens. On the same day, the decree was taken to its immediate execution. The Ukrainian army was gradually reinforced from small arms to armored vehicles, helicopters, artillery.

According to UN data, by December 2016 the death toll in the military conflict in Eastern Ukraine reached 32,856 people. 10,056 people were killed. More than a million people fled to other countries.
