Russian-Turkish commission observes situation in Syria

25 violations of ceasefire were registered in Syria on June 23, Interfax-Military  News Agency reported.

The Russian-Turkish commission keeps count of ceasefire violations in the zone of the conflict. On the whole, the situation in the de-escalation zones was described as stable.

Russian commission’s representatives registered 5 cases of shooting in Latakia province, five in Damascus, two in Aleppo, and one in Hama.

The Turkish commission’s representatives registered six cases of shooting in Damascus province, four in Daraa and one in Hama and Homs provinces each.

Joint Russian-Turkish Commission on Violations of the Joint Agreement in Syria began its work in August 2016. It is assumed that such commission consisting of Russia and Turkey, a NATO state, can have considerable weight in the eyes of the internaItional community.
