Taxi driver was beaten and shot in his leg for speaking Russian, said the spokeswoman of Dnepropetrovsk region police department Anna Starchevskaya, TASS news agency reports on May 15
The conflict took place between the taxi driver and the passengers because the driver spoke Russian. One of the passengers started to beat the taxi driver with a stick. Later it turned out that the attacker was a bodyguard of former Right Sector (organization banned in Russia) leader Dmytro Yarosh. When the driver ran away, a few shots presumably from “Makarov” handgun were made in his direction.
Right Sector is a radical right-wing organization, the members of which are Nazi idea followers. Its supporters actively participated in overthrowing legitimate authorities in Kiev back in 2014, and also as a part of nationalist battalions that take part in military actions against Donbass.
