More than 800 houses damaged in the DPR by Ukrainian shelling in the last three months

More than 800 houses were damaged in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) as a result of the Ukrainian army’s shelling since the beginning of 2017, the RIA Novosti news agency reported on April 27.

“599 private houses and 238 multi-apartment buildings were destroyed during the first quarter of this year in the Donetsk People’s Republic as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian army”,  according to the data released by the press service of the Ministry of Construction Industry of the Donetsk People’s Republic. More than 25,000 houses were damaged over the entire duration of military operations on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic: 20,700 thousand private houses and 4,745 apartment buildings.

The escalation of the conflict in the Donbass began late in January 2017. The Ukrainian army has been regularly shelling the towns and villages of the DPR causing damage and destruction to infrastructure.  There are killed and wounded among the civilian population.
