Kurginyan: Real revolutions give a chance for development, "color revolutions” – never

14.04.2017, Russia.

A crucial difference exists between a people’s revolution and a “color revolution”, “Essence of Time” movement leader Sergey Kurginyan stated on April 13 during the “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov” political talk show on the “Russia 1” TV channel.

According to Kurginyan, true people’s revolutions are led by a national intelligentsia. They strive to liberate their countries from economic oppression, to give impetus to development, and to eliminate social stratification based on wealth. Contrary to this, pseudo-revolutions strengthen economic oppression; they generate chaos and destruction; they lead to the people becoming impoverished and to the rich getting richer. A so-called “color revolution” aims to keep a country in the neocolonial orbit of transnational corporations, while true revolutions fight for national independence.

When confronted with an objection that transnational corporations are subject to political power, and that they do not exercise control over it, Kurginyan pointed to a formidable instrument of global economic power: the U.S. Federal Reserve System.

In late March, Russia faced a wave of political and economic protests at the eve of the upcoming election year, which threaten to grow into a Ukrainian Maidan-type “color revolution”.
