Russian-Syrian military police exercises held in Aleppo

13.04.2017, DPR.

The joint exercises were held by Russian and Syrian military police in the liberated city of Aleppo said RIA News today on the 12th of April.

The Syria law enforcement agencies have been able to adopt new experience from their Russian colleagues, in addition to their vast wartime experience, according to the publication.

The exercises took place directly in the area of eastern Aleppo, where the Syrian army was fighting against Islamists a few weeks before. Police groups practiced the principles and tactics of urban warfare.

Russian military police Battalion commander Akhmet Abdulmutalibov said that the main mistakes of Syrians are “a lack of fear” and “a lack of vigilance in searching and detaining suspects”. Nonetheless, both groups of law enforcement showed to be good results during the exercises.

According to the instructions, police were to capture terrorists – members of the “Islamic State” group (organization banned in Russia), who could be hiding in one of the area’s buildings. Another task was to capture unknown militants armed with automatic weapons.

The last stage of the exercises was at the shooting range, where the Syrian law enforcement showed a result equal to that of their Russian colleagues.

The U.S.Navy carried out a missile strike on the Syrian Arab Republic’s army on the 7th of April. The Syrian Representative to UN, Bashar Ja`afari, stated that, with this strike, the US helped Islamist groups, against which the republic’s army is fighting. President of Russia Vladimir Putin called the incident a violation of international law.
