LPR Leader expresses condolences to the residents of St. Petersburg and all of the people of Russia

The Leader of Lugansk People’s Republic Igor Plotnitsky offered heartfelt condolences on the explosion in St. Petersburg’s metro on April 3rd, Lugansk Information Center informed.

On behalf of the people of Lugansk People’s Republic and on my own behalf, I express our heartfelt condolences. The tragedy echoes in our hearts with unbearable pain. We share the bitterness of the loss with the relatives and loved ones of those who were killed and with all people of Russia,” Plotnitsky said.

Today, around 2.30 PM, an explosion occured onboard St. Petersburg metro train, between “Sennaya Ploshchad” metro station and “Tekhnologichesky Institut” metro station. The explosion occurred in the 3rd coach. According to recent information from the Ministry of Health, 8 people were killed by the shrapnel, and 47 people were injured. Mass media reports 2 people died from wounds in the Mariinski hospital.

All metro stations are closed at the moment. People have been evacuated from the metro. Mass media informs that all injured people were taken to the hospital. The Prosecutor General’s Office classified the incident as a terrorist attack. A criminal investigation has been initiated.
