Ukrainian army increased its activity on Donetsk and Mariupol directions

The situation is tense along the whole contact line, the highest intensity of fire is observed on the Donetsk and Mariupol parts of the front, a source in the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on March 21st.

On the Gorlovka direction, the Ukrainian army opened fire on the village of Zaytsevo, where a house was damaged as a result of the direct hit of the shell. There is no information on victims among civilians.

The situation is tense on the Donetsk part of the front. For several hours, the Ukrainian army was shelling the suburbs of Yasinovataya, the area of Avdeevka industrial zone, the village of Spartak, the village of Donetsk-Severny, the northern outskirts of Donetsk and Aleksandrovka with heavy artillery, tanks, and mortars. A multiple story building was damaged in the village of Donetsk-Severny, one civilian was wounded by shrapnel. One house was damaged in the village of Aleksandrovka.

The Ukrainian side opened fire on Dokuchaevsk with artillery. A civilian was injured with shrapnel, and one house was damaged. East of Dokuchaevsk, the village of Kommunarovka came under Ukrainian army’s fire. The roofs and windows of 2 houses, as well as school and kindergarten, were damaged.

On the Mariupol direction, electric power was lost in the villages of Naberezhnoye, Kominternovo, and Sakhanka.

According to DPR PM, during the past day, 3 servicemen of the Republic were killed, and another 2 were wounded.

According to recent information, the Ukrainian army lost 12 soldiers killed and 14 wounded as a result of its failed breakthrough attempt near the village of Kominternovo. Moreover, 2 infantry fighting vehicles were knocked out of actions, and one Ukrainian army’s tank was damaged.

During the past day, March 20th, the Ukrainian military violated ceasefire 59 times. 17 towns and villages in the Republic were shelled by the Ukrainian army, 9 houses were damaged.
