Situation in DPR remains tense, the shelling continues

The situation remains tense; the Ukrainian army shelled a number of towns and villages on Gorlovka, Donetsk, and Mariupol directions of the front, a source in the DPR People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on February 28th.

The villages of Zaytsevo and Krasny Partizan at the contact line near Gorlovka came under the Ukrainian artillery fire.

On the Donetsk direction, the village of Krutaya Balka and the town of Yasinovataya were shelled. Electric power was lost in the village of Vasilievka because of the damaged power lines. Moreover, the Ukrainian side shelled the pumping station of the Yuzhnodonbassky water pipeline near Yasinovataya. 9 houses were damaged. The Ukrainian army used 122mm artillery and mortars of various calibers.

DPR maintenance engineers managed to restore power supply of Donetsk water filtration plant.

In the south of the Republic, the villages of Sakhanka and Kominternovo came under artillery fire. 2 houses were damaged.

DPR PM recon continues to uncover the location of the Ukrainian army’s heavy weaponry and hardware banned by the Minsk Agreements. Up to a battery of 152mm Akatsiya self-propelled artillery guns near the village of Petrovkoye, up to a battery of 122mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery guns near the village of Novognatovka, and one tank platoon near the town of Artemovo.

According to updated information, during the past day, February 27th, the Ukrainian army opened fire on the front-line territory of DPR by artillery 2,373 times that is two times higher than the number of shellings on February 26th. Ukrainian military fired 22 152mm and 122mm artillery shells, 73 tank shells, 879 120mm and 82mm mortar rounds. On all directions the Ukrainian army used anti-aircraft guns, infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, and small arms.
