Over 4,000 veterans received medical treatment in the LPR hospital in 2016

Over 4,000 veterans of war and their equivalents received medical treatment in Yeryomenko1 Lugansk Republican Hospital for Veterans of the War in 2016, the Chief Physician of the Hospital Tatyana Sokirko reported.

According to Sokirko, specialists of the surgery unit performed 326 operations during the past year.

The average age of those undergone operations is 85 years. As a rule, patients have from 5 to 6 comorbidities,” the Chief Physician specified.

The veterans can attend a library [in the hospital]. Concerts with the participations of amateur and professional ensembles, choirs, and performers, thematic meetings, and exhibitions dedicated to anniversaries and public holidays are being held,” Sokirko explained.

16 concerts were held in the hospital in 2016. They were organized with the help of the public movement “Peace to Lugansk Land”, the Assembly of Youth of Lugansk Land and Luspekayev2 Lugansk Academic Russian Drama Theater,” the Chief Physician stressed.

There are four medical units in the Yeryomenko Lugansk Republican Hospital: surgery with a 60-place capacity, a cardiac unit with a 60-place capacity, a therapeutic unit with an 80-place capacity, and neurological unit with a 65-place capacity. The veterans of Great Patriotic War3, combatants, and former concentration camp prisoners can receive medical care here.
