The situation in Donetsk People’s Republic stays tense.
Trench warfare continues on northern and south-western outskirts of Gorlovka, according to local residents, the enemy is firing tanks guns, IFV guns, mortars, large-caliber machine guns and grenade launchers. There were also reports on shootouts in the area of Svetlodarsk north-west of the city.
Intensive fighting is underway in the area of Adveevka industrial zone and Yasinovataya checkpoint. Sounds of powerful explosions were heard in the northern and western districts of Donetsk.
According to updated information, on December 16 Ukrainian military violated the ceasefire 1183 times. The territory of the Republic was shelled 63 times by 152mm and 122mm artillery guns, 378 by times 120mm and 82mm mortars, tanks, grenade launchers, the enemy also fired IFV guns and small arms. As a result of mortar shellings one serviceman of People’s Militia was killed, two were injured.
