Donetsk Power Plant builds children playgrounds in front-line Debaltsevo on request of locals

28.10.2016, DPR.

On the initiative of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Ministry of Industry and Trade, state-owned company “Donetsk Power Plant” constructed two playgrounds in front-line Debaltsevo. The opening ceremony of the playgrounds took place on October 27th and was attended by the local residents.

The playgrounds were constructed in Vostochny microdistrict and on Kurchatov Street. The production works and installation took around a month. According to the director of “Donetsk Power Plant” Aleksandr Shvechikov, the plant employees worked on the project during weekends and without additional financial benefits.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed that the enterprises would produce equipment for the playgrounds for Debaltsevo residents. We decided to take up this task. In the hard times, we can only stick together and overcome all difficulties by helping each other,” the Director said.

The playgrounds contain a set of horizontal bars, ladders, parallel and uneven bars. The baskets affixed to the backboards for the basketball game were also installed.

We are glad that our request received a response. You see, before, there was no place to play for our children. And now, such a nice children playground has appeared in our yard,” a local resident Valeriya Turta shared her feelings with Donetsk News Agency.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the project will be continued. Quite soon, children playgrounds will appear in other DPR towns and cities damaged by Ukrainian military aggression. Uglegorsk is the next town on the list.

Debaltsevo town, one of the important railway stations of Donbass, was liberated from Ukrainian punitive forces on February 18th, 2015. The enemy blew up a number of infrastructure objects, 80% of buildings of the town were destroyed. The reconstruction of the town was announced as one of the major tasks of DPR authorities.
