Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and Kiev reached an agreement on the exchange of war prisoners, the Authorized Representative of Lugansk People’s Republic Olga Kobtseva informed the media by summing up the results of the meeting of Contact Group in Minsk on the peaceful settlement of the situation in the East of Ukraine, TASS news agency informed.
According to the Representative, the decision to release of 47 people on the part of self-proclaimed Republics and of 618 people on the part of Kiev was made at the meeting on September 21, 2016. The prisoners will be swapped according to the principle of “all for all”. This decision was made as part of the implementation of the Minsk Agreements. The Kiev authorities have not commented on this information yet.
Up to this moment, 15 exchanges of war prisoners took place as a part of the implementation of the Minsk Agreements. Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics released 207 people against 121 people released by the Ukrainian authorities.
