Fine art photographers from occupied Mariupol took part in “Donetsk, I love you” contest

Donetsk authorities concluded the “Donetsk, I love you” photography contest. The exhibition of the fine art photography took place in art and exhibition center “Art-Donbass”.

The photography contest was organized with the participation of the Department of Culture of Donetsk municipality and studio “Donbass Photo Agency”. 30 fine art photographers from various towns of Donetsk People’s Republic took part in the contest. Even photographers from Mariupol town occupied by the Ukrainian army competed for the award.

The contest consisted of three stages and included ‘Photofight’ project as well as photography exhibition in Central Scherbakov Park of Culture and Leisure on the City day and Miner’s day. Over 150 artworks were exhibited. The winners of the contest were awarded the certificates and gifts from the Donetsk authorities,” the Head of the Department of Culture Alena Eliosidze explained.

The candidates competed for the awards in three nominations – “Art Photography Portrait”, architectural and landscape photographs, and genre photographs. The photograph “Miner” made in mine face by Sergey Uryupin received a special award. Liliya Beda received a genre photographs nomination.

According to the organizers, the contest “Donetsk, I love you” is held for the third time and will be again organized in 2017.
