Last night Krasnogvardeisky district of Makeevka, Donetsk People’s Republic, was heavily shelled by 152mm artillery guns. Ukrainian punitive forces opened fire right after 23:00, individual shells kept hitting after midnight.
The building of school № 44 was damaged by a direct hit in the ridge of a roof, glass windows were blasted, several classrooms were damaged.
A shell pierced the roof and exploded in the bedroom of a house on 15, Khlebnikova street. The owner of the house, 60-year old man, received multiple shrapnel wounds and was rushed to the hospital with severe blood loss. His life was saved only by rapid actions of relatives and urban services.
A shell also hit a roof on 15, Serafimovicha street.
A 47-year old woman received shrapnel wounds on 56, Topoleva street, she was hospitalized.
Apart from this several houses are damaged on Chernigovskaya, Lenina, Serafimovicha and Triumfalnaya streets. Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination and OSCE mission representatives are investigating the shelling.
